Life Hack: Know How To Use UPI Without Internet

How To Use UPI Without Internet

Online money transfer has become one of the most used ways of payment. It is convenient, quick and transparent, making it a go-to method for people across ages. You need not carry around your documents or even your credit or debit card, for that matter. All you need is your phone, and let’s admit, nobody these days leaves their homes without a cellphone. We bet you are under the impression that you must have an active internet pack to make any kind of transaction using your phone. Well, while that is a general notion, it is not entirely true. Let’s find out more!

What is UPI?

UPI is one of the most used payment gateways as it allows you to pay to several accounts. The UPI limit per day is also decent, making it quite popular. You can use your internet to make these transactions, but if you do not have access to an internet connection, do not worry. There are certain hacks that can be used to make payments using your UPI id without the aid of an internet connection. You must know your UPI pin and UPI limit per day to make the transaction successful.

While this may seem like a life hack, it is almost unbelievable. Thus, instead of just making a claim, we would like to take you through the process of how it is done.

You can make UPI transactions without an active internet connection.

Using *99# on Your Phone to Make UPI Payments

Step 1

The very first step is to create a UPI account by registering yourself on a suitable app. It is a one-time registration and takes almost no time. It is safe and does not require you to put in too many details.

Before you proceed to the next step, you must learn a little more about UPI to make things easy for you. You need not know everything about the system as it is pretty simple to use, but some details like payment eligibility and conditions, UPI limit per day and what to do if you face a certain problem while or after your transaction.

Step 2

Once you have made your account, you can now make transactions without the internet. To do so, you have to open your keypad and dial *99# and tap on the call button. It is a USSD code and must be dialed using the sim card you have used to register your UPI account. Dialing from any other number will not yield any results.

You will be redirected to a new menu that will show you options like ‘My Profile’, ‘Check Balance’, ‘Receive Money ‘, ‘Send Money’, ‘UPI Pin’, ‘Transactions’, and ‘Check Balance’. Since you want to make a payment using your UPI id, select the ‘Send Money’ option by pressing the number 1 on your dial-pad.

Step 3

This step brings you to the most important part of your transaction. You can now send money using your UPI ID, bank account number, or phone number. Select the option you wish to go for. While Selecting the option, keep certain things in mind, like how much you wish to transfer and if you have all the details with you right then. For instance, if you wish to transfer a large sum of money (anything above a lac), you cannot do that using your UPI ID as the UPI limit per day would not allow you that. Similarly, if you choose bank transfer, you must have all details like account number and IFSC code ready.

Step 4

If you select UPI, all you have to do is enter the beneficiary’s UPI ID to send him the money. In the case of bank transfer, you will be required to enter the 11-digit IFSC code and the bank account number. And finally, if you choose the phone number, enter the person’s phone number.

Step 5

After you have determined which method to go for, it is time to enter the amount you wish to send. While using UPI, you must always keep in mind the UPI limit per day. The general UPI limit per day is one lac, but in some cases, it may vary depending on the kind of account you have and factors like that.

Step 6

In the final step, you will be asked for your UPI number. Once you have made your input, press the send button, and your transaction will be completed. Using this service is pretty easy, and you will be charged a nominal fee of 0.50 rupees.

Everyday hacks make life easier, be it a kitchen hack, work hack or payment hack, knowing a few could come in handy in different situations. Most people are under the impression that one can make money transfers only when connected to the internet. With the above-mentioned hack, you can make a transaction absolutely anytime, irrespective of the handset you are using and the internet.
