Why Love is the Greatest Emotion of All

Have you ever been in love with someone? Or have you felt the love from your parents/friends? Or do you ask yourself where love emotion originates from? To be honest, we have experienced love at one point in our lives. What a wonderful feeling! But this article focuses more on the power of God’s love. Love beyond human understanding and control. The Agape love.

First things first, the only reason we human beings can feel the love emotion; is because of who God is. Among other powerful characters of God, the main one is love. Us being the masterpiece of God’s creations, He breathed life in us from the beginning of mankind. This means that through his spirit, which we have in us, we have a part of himself including love.

Types of Love

There are different kinds of love. Eros or erotic love is the passionate kind between people who are in love. Philia is the love among equals or friends. Storge is the love we experience from our parents and siblings. The Agape love is God’s love beyond human understanding.

How God shows His Love to Us

There are two main great commandments that God gave us through Moses and other prophets. The first is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind (Mathew 22:37). The second is to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31). The principles of life on how we should live according to God revolves around love. Mind-blowing right?

Indeed, God demonstrated his love for us. By sacrificing his only son Jesus Christ to save human beings from sin. Also, sin came to the world through Adam and Eve. As a result, sin brought death. The purpose of Jesus coming into the world was to bring salvation. To humankind by conquering death. Hence offer eternal life for those who believe.

As the word of God says, “For God so love the world, that he gave his only son, for whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

The Chosen

The chosen is a gospel series about the life of Jesus and how he performed miracles. Jesus performed so many miracles during his life on earth including healing the sick. In John chapter 5, Jesus goes to Jerusalem and meets a very sick man who could not walk for a lifetime.

Jesus goes ahead to stir up the water by healing the man on the Sabbath day. According to Jewish customs and traditions, the Sabbath day was to be Holy. But Jesus expresses his love by healing the man no matter the consequences.

Before we loved God, he loved us first since the beginning of creation. This is why Jesus came to fulfill God’s will of bringing salvation and bringing us closer to God.

No matter what we do in this world, the power of God is abundant in our lives. There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love.
